Client Supplied Information
or.. what we will need from you?
After discussing the site requirements with the client, for us to proceed, the client will need to supply us with the following information.
- A preferred style and number of pages required. We can come up with many suggestions for this, but here's how to get the site you REALLY want!
- All photographic materials you wish to display, on either photographic film (for scanning), or on disk as graphics files (most formats can be accommodated).
- All copy associated with the subject that you want displayed on your site, including information about the company, your range of services or portfolio, preferred links (if any) or any other matter you wish to show. This to be made available on disk in a standard text/word processor format. Note that any text supplied may be modified (with your approval) to suit layout and Internet writing style. For small sites we would be happy to generate a base text for you, based on our discussions, that you can then 'tweak' to suit yourself.
- Any additional advertising media that you provide to other customers and prospective customers
Remember, this is a general list, and we would discuss the copy with you in detail as the site is built. Speed of supply of any agreed information can greatly effect the build time of the web site, so have it ready if you can.
The best person to educate us about your business, is of course, you! We know about the Internet, so the more you can tell us about your business, the better your on-line message will be.

Preparation tip! |
When getting quotes from a number of designers, it's a good idea to prepare an information pack that you can send with your request for quotation. This pack can include your latest advertisement material, colour letterhead (with logo), printed media, CD ROM if available, or whatever you have that gives current useful information about your company.
This allows the designer a good look at the company, it means all the quotes are based on the same material, it means you can see who is offering the best value for money, and, it provides immediate material to get on with the job, for the successful company.
